We are the Girard Family!

For the past five years, we’ve been traveling the country full-time in our camper. Together, my husband and I homeschooled our children, worked side by side, and as a family we experienced some pretty incredible things on the road.

 

Honestly, I thought we had a few more years of nomadic adventures before we thought about settling down.

 

Then life happened, and this summer (2025), we stumbled upon the perfect property for our family.

Our home on wheels gave us the freedom to roam, and now our humble off-grid home offers us a different kind of freedom—one rooted in the land.

 

Jake and I still have a lot to learn about homesteading, and this page is my diary of that journey.

We believe less is more. We practice living slowly and simply. We value time over money. This blog is where we’ll share our journey—our struggles, our triumphs, and everything in between.
