A Kick to the Balls of the Patriarchy

My sister and I both live fulltime in campers.

We refuse to play the game. It’s not fun anymore.

2022 and the world has gone mad.

My sister is 24 and attending flight school.

I am 32, raising three nomadic homeschooled children, with my husband.

Sometimes, I put myself in our mother shoes.

I hope she is proud.

Proud she raised two women who do not settle.

Girls who are not scared of the unknown, but instead soak that shit up like sponges.

Proud of her girls for chasin’ our dreams in a world that settles for comfort.

It takes guts to raise strong women, and she raised two.

Our existence is a kick to the balls of the patriarchy.

Thank you for the steel toe boots, Mom.
